Happy Friday!

Between traveling for work last week, starting the Master Herpetologist Certificate program, and then trying to prep for the incoming storms this weekend…Yeah, I didn't have the YouTube videos ready on time.

So I am shooting for this coming week and using the time we are snowed in to finish everything up.

Thanks for the support and patience. In the meantime, there are some interesting things going on.

Herps in the News

There are some notable stories that have been going mainstream over the past couple of weeks.

I’ll start with the negative one. Apparently, Fear Factor is back, and somehow finds it acceptable to drop live animals onto people…

The level of stupidity in reality TV in general is unreal, but garbage like this is on another level…And just validates the general disdain I feel towards the genre. It really sucks because I actually like Johnny Knoxville.

I would love to drop the folks who approved this from a platform that is the same height relative to their size. And onto another animal that is scared of them… perhaps a bull or something.

I should probably move on before I go too far with showing my audience how comfortable I am with violence.

I do intend to keep MHI family-friendly, which probably confuses a lot of friends and family!

Adam (WWR) summed it up better (and more politically correct) than I can:

So, onto the positive, and sort of awesome news. I am not the type to keep up with celebrity stuff and haven’t ever watched any of the award shows, but this popped up for me, and it was too good not to share.

The actor Bobby Cannavale had a great excuse for missing his wife’s award: getting a new herp family member!

From MHI

Nothing at all this week!

Between everything, I was just spread too thin and was pushing it just to have the first videos out. But things just kept going wrong.

I lost some footage when I ran out of memory in the middle of shooting because I forgot to clear space after my trip.

Then, my mic came loose halfway through filming another video and I got up at 3 AM to redo it before work…but then ended up working late and didn’t get it edited…

This is pretty much how things normally go, so it shouldn’t be a surprise! Realistically, this week the storm snuck up on me a bit, so I had some emergency prep to do before it hits. I’ll use the time to catch up and have 3-4 videos ready to launch next week.

And with any luck, the drop in temperature will bring us some locks from the Ball Pythons and Spotted Pythons!

Thank you all again for the support and patience. I am very excited about everything going on with MHI this year, but I have to keep a realistic pace too.

I am attempting to launch the channel with a few videos to optimize it for growth, but I have to put a limit on myself. Next week, I’ll post whatever I have ready and just go from there!

See you next week. Cheers,

Will
