Happy Friday!
A lot is going on all over the place this week!
Herp Hobby & Industry News:
For years, Colorado has been something of a black hole for herpetology, especially for private and hobbyist keepers, when it comes to herp laws and regulations.

Yes, I know. No real surprise if you are familiar with how invasive a lot of Colorado’s laws are to private citizens.
There are some herpers, but it has been rough to import and export many species, especially if native to North America. But the state could be easing up on the herp hobby and industry.
RRK has already shown us that “white lists” and such are ineffective. But at least CO isn’t maintaining its outright ban.
You can read up on what’s going on here:
And read USARK’s updates here
From Around the World:
Ocean conservation has been a big topic this week.
A “High Seas Treaty” has been signed by over a third of the world’s nations, which will begin to protect large parts of our ocean ecosystems.
And then there is this entire list of positive ocean-related stuff, including the removal of Green Sea Turtles from the endangered list!
From MHI
This week’s video is the start of a resource library I am building. I break down the initial setup and budget to plan for when you get your first baby snake!
Don’t judget the thumbnail too hard, I just grabbed a still because I was behind on posting…
This shopping list will be a part of the resources library I am adding to the community site I am currently building, so stay tuned for more!
From Our Sponsors
No sponsor this week, but I want to take a moment to recognize some of the organizations that fight for us, since we already mentioned USARK this week.
In just the past 365 days alone, USARK has played a critical role in protecting our rights to keep our scaly family members.
If you aren’t already, definitely support them in whatever way you can:
I am currently a bronze member and plan to move up with a portion of any earnings from the MHI project.

Another great organization to support is Responsible Reptile Keeping (RRK). They are doing fantastic work with public awareness and put out great information and resources.

Thank you all for the continued support. Next week, I want to share some of the cool stuff I am learning as part of the Master Herpetology Course.
See you next week!
Will
