First Issue!

This week: good news from last year, a survey for the hobby, and all things Spotted Python!

In partnership with

Welcome to the first issue!

Science and Around the World

Let's kick things off with some good news from 2024, including a list of animals that got some much-needed population recovery.

Out of the 5 species listed 3 are reptiles (the Sombrero lizard, Siamese Crocodile, and Olive ridley turtle). Reptiles and amphibians are by far the most at-risk groups of animals worldwide.

Seeing a few species make serious gains in the last few years is a win.

Hobby and Industry News

Responsible Reptile Keeping is an organization based in the UK that is doing some amazing stuff for all keepers!

To start the year off they have launched the Worldwide Reptile Super Survey to collect data from keepers all over. This data will be used to educate and combat negative propaganda about our amazing hobby.

From MHI

I finally sat down and started a full guide for Spotted Pythons!

And a graphic that I don’t know what to do with just yet:

That is all for this week; reply to let me know what you think of this first issue and if there is anything you would like to see in future issues!

Plans in the works are some more community polls, contests, and some lists of smaller events that might not be as well known but should get some more attention.
